Description of the goods or services required

Bridgend County Borough Council (BCBC) invites you to submit a Tender for the Trelales Primary School Kitchen Extension.

BCBC intends appointing a Principal Contractor to undertake and assume full responsibility for the delivery of the Contract, in close liaison with the Authority’s Appointed Person(s).

The Authority requires that the Successful Bidder maintains a Registered and Verified status on Constructionline throughout the term the Contract.

Price Cap: The Authority has a not to be exceeded budget of £490,000. This means that the cost of the Tender / Contract is Price Capped at £490,000 Any bidders who submit a Bid Price exceeding the Price Cap will be immediately disqualified.

Brief Description: The project involves the following:

The construction of a new, single storey attached extension, to the existing primary school building including all works to complete the project that includes,

• Mechanical & electrical works as extensions to existing systems.

• Construction of steel frame to form extension.

• external works and drainage, associated with the works.

The site is currently occupied by buildings. TRELALES PRIMARY SCHOOL. The original buildings are dated pre-war and are of a traditional masonry construction with pitched roofs with clay plain tiled finish. The school buildings are essentially single story with a large hall/dining room building with a single storey attached kitchen extension. Former works on the site include the development of an ICT suit that provides a link to the main school buildings constructed in the late 90's. The school also has a standalone nursery building of a prefabricated construction of timber, located at the bottom of the school yard. The site is generally flat with access predominantly off WELL STREET, which is located within a residential area of Laleston.

The Tenderer would need to complete the a Qualification Questionnaire (Compliance and Due Diligence.) and be registered and verified on Constructionline. Please note the Price Cap of £490,000. Please refer to the Project Overview, Section A, Table 1 for the minimum required documents that need to be completed, signed and returned with your Bid Submission.
