Abstract

The works will involve design and Installation of a type ii structural pipe liner and a contractor designed bespoke chamber cover and frame in accordance with current standards as shown on drawings SO1034/01 & 02 and SO1032/01 The appointed contractor or principal contractor will be responsible for all temporary works design including water management, over pumping (including over roads), excavations and access and subsequent making good works. The inverts will need to be cleaned out and sections of scour filled with a single size pipe bed stone before lining works is to commence. The project will require correct management of confined space working, difficult/ restricted access and egress. Bowen Ind. Est. Culvert - The culvert Inlet is located within the verge on the Northwestern boundary of Bowen Industrial Estate, Aberbargoed CF81 9FW (315909, 199112) within Caerphilly County Borough Council and is considered to be a confined space. The culvert traverses southwest under A4049 Pengam Road for approx. 21m and terminates in a forested area off Pengam Road. The culvert construction comprises two forms of construction at various points within it’s arrangement • 1.2m of stone masonry abutments with steel plate soffit and steel beam struts (1m wide x 1.5m high) • 20.2m of stone masontry pipe (0.9m wide and 1.0m high There is an inspection chamber located on the culvert line at 12m as shown on drawing SO1034/001. The inspection chamber measures 1.2m long, 0.7m wide and height from invert to surface is 2.2m. there is also a 0.3m dia concrete pipe to the right of the chamber. HillStreet Culvert – The culvert Inlet and outlet are situated within private land either side of the carrargeway, Rhymney NP22 (312371, 206756) within Caerphilly County Borough Council and is considered to be a confined space. The culvert traverses under Hillstreet for approx. 25m. The culvert construction comprises two forms of construction at various points within it’s arrangement • 1.1m wide x 0.7m high of stone masonry abutments with stone arch soffit, inlet to chainage 9.4m • 600mm concrete pipe from 9.4m to outlet.

In order to be able to undertake construction related work for the Council in the value band below the procurement threshold and on this specific project, it will be a mandatory requirement for all suppliers to, hold membership with Constructionline and hold SSIP membership with an Health & Safety Accredited body through an SSIP approved Scheme.

Tenderers must express an interest in this tender by completing the following:
