Title
Tender for the supply of Milling and Sieving Equipment
|
2.2
|
Description of the goods or services required
Milling/sieving equipment is required to prepare a wide range of different carbon-based materials (e.g. coal, coke, biomass, paper, plastic, tyres etc.) for further testing as potential raw materials for use in iron and steel making. The combination of instruments should be capable of consistently producing milled samples across a range of different particles sizes (mm to μm sizes). To be specific, the milling/sieving instruments must be able to accept initial feed sizes of 60-80mm and mill these down to particle sizes of 1μm (i.e. 5-6 orders of magnitude reduction in particle size). As this is not possible in one step or on one instrument, we request 3 milling instruments; a cutting mill, an ultra-centrifugal mill and a planetary ball mill. We also request an automated sieve shaker to separate samples into different particle size ranges.
Thus, the whole milling/sieving equipment can be sub-divided into 4 sub-systems (see below) which will operate sequentially.
1.Cutting mill
2.Ultra-centrifugal mill
3.Planetary ball mill
4.Automated sieve shaker
One supplier is required to supply and deliver ALL specified milling/sieving equipment.
