Abstract

The purpose of the tender is to obtain a fixed rate price and illustrated layouts for the supply and installation of new playground equipment and where applicable safety surfacing and other features. New equipment to be provided to suit children with special needs within the school grounds. Supply and install the following. 1. Wheelchair swing 2. Sunken trampoline 3. Flush wheelchair friendly carousel 4. Any other inclusive equipment if space and budget allows. Wetpour surfacing to the manufactures specifications for depth throughout and must comply with EN 1177, coloured if the budget allows. For the purpose of submitting the proposal a detailed 3D coloured layout and dimensions of each proposed item is required. Please utilise the Key Considerations for New Play Areas outlined within this document, to aid the design choices.

The recommendations made are modest in cost and can be reasonably considered in meeting a design brief, however we welcome the inclusion of innovative ideas.

• Rocking/spinning/bouncing experiences to suit varied sizes and abilities

• Climbing experiences to include low and multi-level experiences not just height driven.

A maximum budget of £36k (exclusive of VAT) is available which is to include all design work, removals and disposals, safety surfacing, new equipment and installation.

An itemised quotation is required to identify all cost together with an illustrated layout for design proposed which will be assessed on a quality/play value basis.

New equipment to be provided to suit children with special needs within the school grounds.
