Description of the contract
The purchase of 4 suitable patient simulators is required by the
School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences at Cardiff University. New Clinical skills equipment is required to meet the new standards for accreditation. This equipment is part of the development of a 4 bed clinical simulation ward within the school allowing students the opportunity to experience clinical simulations of pharmaceutical scenarios and provide appropriate treatment and advice.
These simulators need to have the following functions to be utilised appropriately within the pharmacy teaching:
- Ability to respond to medication interventions.
- Multi-display of a patient’s live clinical observations.
- The ability to inter-act through speech direct from a live staff member, giving the option for bi-lingual teaching to occur in both English and Welsh.
- Must be able to undertake all normal clinical examinations.
- Need to be programmable in a quick and structured way to enable staff time in building scenarios for students to be efficient.
- Different skin tones and male/female simulators to promote diversity within teaching and learning – made up of 2 x light skinned simulators (1 male and 1 female) and 2 x medium to dark skinned simulators (1 male and 1 female).
- 2 x female accessory kits will also be required.
- The simulators will also need to be delivered by 31st July 2023.
