Swansea University organises a of variety Sports Club travel to a wide range of destinations ranging from the local area, to as far south as Plymouth throughout the academic year, and as such a coach service provider is required to facilitate the transport needs of Swansea University's student sports teams who travel far and wide for sporting fixtures and training needs.

II.2.4) Description of the procurement
SThe sports department within Swansea University (Sport Swansea), organises the transport for all sports clubs to their fixtures and training. Destinations are far and wide, ranging from local travel to trips across the south, mid and north of England. As such a coach service provider is required to facilitate the transport needs of the clubs. The majority of the sporting season for the clubs will commence at the end of September, through to the end of March. The main day for sporting activity is Wednesday with pick-ups ranging from 7am to 5pm. Club training sessions run on weeknights and there are often overnight journeys on weekends. Unless otherwise stated on a given journey, the start and end points will be Swansea Bay Sports Park, Sketty Lane, Swansea SA2 8QG and may have
multiple drop off points on a given journey.
A basic outline of the club transportation needs will be planned in September however exact timings and destinations will be confirmed week by week. Sport Swansea may need to have
additional dates added if the teams make it to any finals, these will be confirmed as soon as they are available.
In addition to the above, we are striving to appoint an operator who can demonstrate capability in helping us meet our duty of care to our staff and students. The University expects that the unsuccessful operator will have a duty of care when carrying passengers and it is essential that passenger safety and passenger care are the top priority for operators to follow.
The initial term of the contract is 3 years, with the option to extend by a further 2 years (3+1+1)
