Abstract

The Chemistry Department within the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences wish to procure a fully functional Preparative High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) system that will boost their research capabilities, particularly for purification and analysis of carbohydrate based and other small organic molecules for pharmaceutical development and medicinal chemistry research. This effort is motivated by the desire to enhance their existing analytical capabilities to accommodate more advanced research projects, as well as to improve the throughput and precision of their chemical analyses. The external funding for this equipment has been awarded from the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) research grant. The tender process is to source a suitably qualified supplier to provide a fully functional Preparative HPLC system which is dependable, scalable and versatile to handle a diverse array of sample types and experimental setups, as well as manage analytical demands with the flexibility to be retrofitted in the future for further developments.
