Description of the goods or services required
Swansea University's SUSIM programme aims to utilise a variety of simulation modalities to train students from interprofessional programmes across the faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Sciences in undergraduate and post-graduate programmes. Our newly refurbished centre and remote campus site will hold the largest installation of immersive wall simulation suite technology in the UK and will become a centre of excellence for Wales.
The Swansea University Simulation (SUSiM) programme and centres are being developed across 2 sites:
Haldane Building - Singleton Park campus
Saint David’s Park – Jobswell, Carmarthen
as part of this immersive simulation modality programme expansion.
An investment of over £5 million pounds has enabled the redesign of facilities across the Swansea University Singleton campus, where the main Simulation Centre will be located, and this project also includes the refurbishment of the Saint David’s Park site in Carmarthenshire.
Led by an international expertise in simulation-based education, along with the University’s estates, operational and faculty teams, the sites will grow to become Centres of Excellence at a local, national and international level, providing excellence in teaching, innovation, research, collaboration and business growth. Our programmes will be enhanced by the latest advancements in simulation-based learning equipment including a range of full body manikins to meet the demographics of our healthcare programmes.
This Tender process is to appoint suitably experienced suppliers of simulation manikins which will be used to deliver teaching in the Faculty of Medicine, Health & Life Science courses, including Paramedic Science, Nursing & Midwifery and Operating Department Practice, at the University’s Singleton Park and Carmarthen campuses.
