Environmental Improvements The Murchfield Recreation Area, Dinas Powys

Description of the goods or services required

The Vale of Glamorgan Council has secured Open Space and Public Art Section

106 funding to implement environmental improvements at the Murchfield

recreation ground to refurbish the existing MUGA and tennis court and adjacent

areas to provide a creative, imaginative, active recreational space providing

opportunities for active recreation for the whole community with an artistic theme.

The Works include the following activities.

• Site clearance including removal of existing MUGA and tennis court fences

• Rationalisation and extension of pavements including new kerbs and

pavements including surface course

• Installation of new fencing and sports equipment

• Installation of features (furniture) manufactured by artist

• Decoration of new surface as set out by artist

Additional Information

Following the initial assessment of the tenders submitted the authority have decided that as they were both over budget and so had cancelled the existing tender opportunity and after reviewing the scope of work and tender documents we are re issuing the tender opportunity. Existing tenderers and any that have previously considered submitting should be able to respond.
