Abstract

Public Health Wales Trust are looking to award a maintenance contract to carry out the annual preventative maintenance for various Don Whitley equipment located in various sites inc Anaerobic workstations, WASP touch e.t.c. Which include the below requirements: 1. Two scheduled preventative maintenance visits during the year 2. Replacement of all the routine service parts 3. Cleaning and setting of mechanical devices 4. Software updates (when applicable) 5. Cleaning and setting of the electrical and electronic devices 6. Testing 7. Unlimited breakdown visits including 100% discount on labour and parts 8. Engineers travel expenses 9. Free loan equipment (subject to availability) should it be necessary to return yours to the factory 10. Priority service line 11. Weekend on call technical phone support Don Whitley are the OEM for these medical devices and are considered to be the only supplier able to carry out the maintenance for this equipment in line with the equipment standards, for this reason we are looking to award this contract. Justification for selected award procedure:

The procurement falls outside the scope of application of the Directive

Explanation:

Don Whitley Scientific Limited are the OEM for these medical devices and are considered to be the only supplier able to carry out the maintenance for this equipment in line with the equipment standards. The NWSSP Maintenance Procurement team explored compliantly awarding this work through the NHS Supply Chain Framework. Unfortunately, Don Whitley are no longer available via the framework for maintenance, based upon the sole supplier nature of this maintenance requirement, Public Health Wales trust will look to award this contract to the OEM, Don Whitley Scientific Limited.
