Abstract

Articulate is the world’s leading desktop software that aids in the creation of eLearning resources to a high standard of quality and interactivity. It is the industry standard software for creating engaging and user-friendly resources (like the ‘Adobe Photoshop’ of eLearning resources). It is currently used by multiple members of HEIW Pharmacy and HEIW Digital Learning teams. This is a renewal of the software, a break in access to this software would be very disruptive for both sections. It would be difficult to switch to a different piece of software given the already existing and widely used resources on the YTD learning platform. Any changes to existing content would require re-building the whole content using new authoring tools. This would have a significant impact on time and cost. The cost of the migrating to a new software in terms of reworking resources, training, support and internal technical skill to assist with this migration would far outweigh any savings that may be achieved. As the use of eLearning has increased and is being adopted by more HEIW sections, this software will allow for a broader range of learning delivery and resources that will lead to better online delivery of learning to ensure that the NHS and HEIW are receiving value for money.
