Description of the goods or services required
Caerphilly County Borough Council (CCBC) has UK Shared Prosperity Funds (SPF) to purchase and install a new camping accommodation unit for its existing campsite portfolio located at Cwmcarn Forest, Newport, NP11 7FA.
The Council are looking for a suitable camping unit that can be raised off the ground and can be dismantled and easily moved around. In essence a moveable glamping style pod.
There are a number of requirements that will apply to the supply and installation of the new camping unit as follows:
- The unit has to be delivered and installed on site by the end of March 2025 due to funding requirements. This is a non-negotiable requirement.
-The unit has to fit in an area of existing woodland and cannot be more that 3m x 3m in diameter. There is no direct vehicle access and due to the trees, no crane or lifting equipment can be used. It therefore needs to be able to be mobile / or be available in parts to reconstruct and can be easily moved around if relocation is required.
- The unit has to be adaptable to the uneven ground surface and not require a level foundation, for example the use of adjustable legs/stilts or another easily adaptable solution.
- The unit must have a solar power system as it is not able to be connected to the mains electricity.
- The unit will not require any water as all services are available within the shower block at Cwmcarn and any rainwater will only be dispersed to the immediate area as it falls off the canopy and soak away naturally as it does now.
- The unit must be weather proof and be able to be kept outside throughout the year.
- The unit must be able to accommodate a minimum of 4 adults or a small family.
