Abstract

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Authority is seeking to appoint an Independent Local Pension Board Chair on a consultancy basis to assist the Authority (Scheme Manager) in relation to the administration and governance of the Firefighters’ Pension Scheme(s), in order to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and any requirements of the Pensions Regulator. The Chair will ensure that the scheme operates efficiently, effectively, and in compliance with relevant regulations. The outcome of the procurement is to appoint a qualified and experienced individual to the position of Independent Local Pension Board Chair. The appointed Chair will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to the pension board, ensuring that it fulfills its statutory duties and responsibilities. The contract period will be for three years, commencing on the 1st August 2025 with the possibility of a two-year extension.

Description of the goods or services required

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Authority is seeking to appoint an Independent Local Pension Board Chair on a consultancy basis to assist the Authority (Scheme Manager) in relation to the administration and governance of the Firefighters’ Pension Scheme(s), in order to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and any requirements of the Pensions Regulator.
