Abstract

YnNi Teg invites tenders for the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of photovoltaic (PV) and battery storage (BESS) systems and solar PV-linked immersion control to existing hot water storage tanks at 7 no. community buildings located across South Wales. In addition, supply, installation and commissioning of electric vehicle (EV) fast charging infrastructure at 4 no. of those sites. Maintenance and support for a 2 year period post completion, on a call-out basis as and when needed. Key criteria for selection include technical competence and experience, value for money, adherence to quality standards, and alignment with the project timeline. The proposed project buildings are all used by the Bangladeshi and Pakistani heritage community as mosques and community centres. The project is part of a wider initiative being promoted by the Bengal Dragons Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation based in S.Wales. Ynni Teg is a community energy company based in Wales and providing support to the BDF as delivery partners and project managers. Funding for the project works has been secured through the Welsh Government's Ynni Cymru agency.

YnNi Teg invites tenders for the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of photovoltaic (PV) and battery storage (BESS) systems and solar PV-linked immersion control to existing hot water storage tanks at 7 no. community buildings located across South Wales.

Total quantity or scope of tender

Scope of works to include:

7 no. roof-mounted solar PV arrays of between 10 and 25 kWp.

7 no. modular battery storage systems with c.20kWh capacity plus hybrid inverters.

6 no. solar PV-linked immersion controllers.

4 no. c.7kW electric vehicle charge points

Estimated total value: c.£250-£275k.

3 Conditions for Participation

3.1

Minimum standards and qualification required

Have a successful track record in delivering similar schemes in Wales.

Employ sufficient skilled and certified trades persons to adequately resource the works, including suitably qualified electrician/s (installation, inspection and testing).

Be a member of a competent person's scheme such as the MCS certified installer for solar PV and battery storage systems.

Maintain public liability insurance cover for claims up to £5m, and contractors all-risks insurance cover for claims of minimum of £1m value.

Can commit to works on site to be practically completed by 28th March 2025.

Will comply with all Health and safety legislation, certification, and conformance for the site.

Will provide overarching warranty on workmanship for all assets/products installed.

Will provide a project work plan and Gantt chart to include key target dates and date of completion for each site.

Will be considerate and respect community use of the buildings during the works period.
