Description of the goods or services required
The Welsh Government requires a supplier to provide Web Archiving and Hosting Services.
In summary here are the key requirements:
A complete and comprehensive annual capture of the 40 smaller sub-sites.
• Crawls should meet the ISO 28500 standard and past annual exercises have extracted approximately 6.9TB of data or 600,000 web pages.
• All images, media, data and linked documents should also be captured in their native format including rich media, Flash content, hyperlinks, videos, dynamic content, blogs, SharePoint, wikis, commentary, customer forums, content behind logins, form posts, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
• Crawls should target our websites and collect the content into its native archive on a schedule.
• The content in the archive should then be stored in native format so that the content looks exactly as it did at the moment of collection.
• Provide an easy retrieval and “playback” of the web content will in turn create clear audit trails which will support our information governance.
• The crawls will be comprehensive with the integrity and functionality of the captured sites being of prime importance. This includes social media and video, whether live-streamed or embedded (including Flash).
• Crawls must be completed outside of peak working hours, thus being either overnight or during the weekend, in order to limit traffic on our websites.
Complete with Storage and hosting services.
