A458 Cwm Cewydd Landslip Phase 2

Description of the goods or services required

The works comprise the installation of 92no. soil nails of varying lengths into the cut slope above the eastbound lane of the A458 at Cwm Cewydd.

In addition to the soil nails, a rock mesh shall be placed over the 40m length section of slope, whilst maintaining the hedgerow at the slope crest. All drilling works shall therefore be undertaken from road level below, utilising a single lane traffic management closure.

Prior to commencement of drilling works, vegetation clearance shall be undertaken on the slope, involving the removal and disposal of Himalayan Balsam at a licensed facility.
