Abstract
Monmouthshire County Council (MCC) wishes to provide three accessible routes connecting up the Wales Coast Path (WCP) with local services in Magor, Undy and Caldicot, in southern Monmouthshire, which will:
> Promote healthier lives and increased physical activity and improve access to green spaces.
> Develop tourism products enhancing visitor experience for visitors to the county.
> Help to develop active travel routes encouraging people to walk, wheel and cycle into towns rather than using private cars.
> Maintain and improve local rights of way and countryside sites to promoting and encouraging greater use and enjoyment of them for physical and mental well being.
MCC is now looking to appoint a consultant to undertake a comprehensive feasibility study of the three routes and produce a report that will form the basis of a future funding bid for the implementation stage of the project.
