Abstract

Please see full description in attached brief. The Eryri National Park Authority (ENPA) is seeking to appoint a suitable contractor to deliver a community archaeology survey and excavation project in the historic landscape of Ardudwy on the coastal western flanks of the Eryri National Park. The project is focussed on ruinous post-medieval cottages in the rural landscape. It will take place in 2024 and 2025. The ENPA is specifically seeking an archaeological contractor who is experienced in working with community volunteers, including in particular with Welsh speaking participants, with demonstrated knowledge and expertise of both the required fieldwork techniques (and ability to finalise project work to archive stage) and of the subject material. The contractor should have an excellent record of developing and delivering engaging community participation and schools’ projects. Every aspect of this commission must be completed by June, 2025. The closing date for the receipt of tenders is 12pm, Monday, July 22nd, 2024.
