Abstract

This contract will mainly be focused on preventative and reactive maintenance operations identified from the regular trail inspection program consisting of the following specification of works: • The maintenance of mountain bike trail tread, chassis and trail side features, e.g. de-berming, culvert repairs, unblocking ditches, grade dip repairs, repairing trail tread and chassis using hand tools, whacker plates powered wheelbarrows or other plant and equipment as required. Clearance of fall zones and the general trail corridor. • Maintaining trail corridor & sightlines through vegetation management. Cutting back encroaching vegetation, brashing trailside trees flush with trunk, • Small scale installation and maintenance and repair of fences and motorbike barriers (specification for all work will be agreed in advance with the contractor and the Lot Manager ). • • Installation and maintenance of way marker posts, interpretation panels, signage and other associated trailside infrastructure. • Small scale Chemical spraying/topical application and manual means for controlling weeds/invasive species in car parks and on trails. Use of chemical must be kept to a minimum, and hand clearance should be used as a preferred alternative. The project manager must provide written approval of the type of chemical used and how it will be applied prior to work being carried out on site. Chemical usage sheets to be supplied by contractor at end of period of spraying • Emergency call out works (including outside of 9-5 Mon-Fri) repairs, maintenance or the setting up of diversions etc.
