Abstract

Cardiff University were awarded a sum of money via a grant. The research this grant was awarded for required a Variable Pressure Scanning Electron Microscope. Procurement Services have procured a VP-SEM on in collaboration with the grant holder via the UKUPC HVLE Framework. Procurement Services utilised the ranked system on this framework and approached the 4 suppliers to purchase the requirement. Ranked 1, 2 & 3 were unable to quote/unable to provide the required specification. The requirement was sent to 4th place who were able to supply. The contract was then awarded in accordance to the Framework rules and in line with PCR2015.
