Description of the contract
This is a refresh of survey equipment to place our field archaeology research capacity at the forefront of
rapidly developing digital techniques including robotic totals stations and survey grade GNSS positioning.
Archaeological fieldwork is the cornerstone of research in the discipline and requires systematic geospatial
surveying. Advances in technology mean that this refresh in equipment is necessary so that we are at the
cutting edge of industry practice and remain competitive. Currently, we have outdated survey equipment to
conduct in-field Archaeological research and training. We require a refresh of field survey equipment to
bring us in line with current and best practices in the Archaeology profession.
The survey equipment must be suitable for all weather fieldwork in the UK in urban and rural environments.
To complete the refresh, we require an archaeological equipment pack including the following -
Archaeological Equipment Pack –
• 1 x Leica TS16 Package One-man robotic total station running captivate on instrument & controller.
• 1 x Traverse kit for robotic total station (2x prism stations with tripods).
• Additional accessories and chargers, including full set of batteries and spare batteries, chargers for UK plugs, rugged carry cases, appropriate cleaning equipment (cloths for lenses), weather protection (protective covers).
• The supplier must have a UK-based point-of-contact for after-sales support.
• Equipment operational manuals to be provided (electronic and hard copy).
• Necessary updates to software/firmware when they become available from the manufacturers throughout the life of the equipment at no additional cost.
