Abstract

As part of a North Wales Growth Deal funded project, the Centre of Environmental Biotechnology is aiming to support the transformation of the North Wales regional economy by developing a new state of the art microbial culture scale up facility. This project will explore the use of biological processes as low carbon alternatives to products and industrial manufacturing processes. If funding is approved, it will partly be used to enhance the current basic enzyme research equipment (based in Thoday building in Bangor) that feeds potential enzymes into the scale-up facility. To that end, the University is looking to purchase a new high performance liquid chromatograph preparative system. Further details and the specification are included within the tender documents.
