Requirements
The external evaluator will provide an objective assessment of the project’s implementation and impact, ensuring that it meets its goals and delivers value to the community. The responsibility of the evaluation includes;
1. Assessment and planning:
o Asses the community needs and what the baseline is for the projects.
o Review with project team if the goals are achievable.
2. Stakeholder Engagement:
o Evaluate the effectiveness of partnerships with local governments, community organisations, and volunteers.
3. Infrastructure and Resources:
o Review the development and effectiveness of maker spaces, repair cafés and tool libraries.
o Ensure these resources meet community needs and project goals.
o Evaluate the workshops, classes, and online resources.
o Create feedback forms with the project team to ensure the correct and relevant information is collected from the start of the project.
4. Community Engagement and Promotion:
o Analyse the impact of awareness campaigns and events.
o Measure community participation and feedback.
o Use feedback to provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
5. Growth and Development:
o Assess networking efforts with similar initiatives.
o Evaluate the long-term sustainability planning of the project
o Use feedback to provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
6. Scope of work
The Fund's guidelines require that projects be evaluated robustly, and that learning is shared with others in the sector. To complete this you need to outline your method of project evaluation, including:
1. Baseline Report:
o A detailed report outlining the initial conditions and community needs for the project.
2. Mid-Term Evaluation Report:
o A comprehensive report detailing progress towards goals, stakeholder engagement effectiveness, and infrastructure development.
o Recommendations for project.
3. Final Evaluation Report:
o A thorough assessment of the project’s overall impact, including quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
o Success stories and best practices.
o Strategic recommendations for future initiatives and scaling.
4. Regular Progress Updates:
o Quarterly reports summarising ongoing evaluation activities and preliminary findings.
