Abstract

Stena Line Ports Ltd invites construction contractors experienced in undertaking coastal and maritime engineering construction works to express their interest in undertaking works to refurbish the Grade II listed Holyhead Breakwater, Anglesey. The purpose of this notice is only to confirm your interest to attend a Meet the Buyer Workshop where Stena Line Ports and their design team will be presenting details of the proposed works. The event will be an opportunity for contractors to engage with Stena Line Ports to gain an understanding of the project and to discuss the scheme. The project will comprise the following principal activities:- provision of circa 11,600 nos. 45T tetrapod armour units and 750 nos. 120T chevron blocks; supply and placement of rock fill to reprofile the breakwater foundations; placement of the tetrapod and chevron blocks on the seaward side and around the roundhead of the breakwater; supply and placement of concrete mattresses on the harbour side of the breakwater; supply and placement of rock armour at the landward end of the breakwater. Contractors will need to consider the logistics of providing, transporting and stockpiling the tetrapod and chevron blocks. Due to the exposed nature of the site, site works are expected to be limited to the summer season. The contract is expected to be let under the terms of an NEC4 Contract. The contractor will be appointed as Principal Contractor in accordance with the CDM 2015 regulations. A two-stage competitive tender exercise will follow the Workshop, with contractors being required to demonstrate proven experience in the delivery of projects of a similar type and scale during the first, pre-qualification stage. The Workshop will comprise an open presentation session, with one-to-one sessions to be arranged thereafter. The Workshop is expected to be held on Tuesday 1st April 25 @ 11am in Holyhead. Exact location will be announced following your emailed attendance. How to Register: Please email breakwater@stenaline.com to confirm your interest and attendance at the event. Please also confirm your organisation’s intended attendees *Max 2 people per organisation*. Deadline for registrations is Wednesday 26th March 25.
