Abstract

Bridgend County Borough Council (BCBC) invites you to express your interest in taking part in a Pre-market Engagement Process that would allow a forward looking project developing exchange of questions, ideas and thought processes ultimately leading to the award of contract for the Demolition of Brackla 1 Multi-story Car Park in Bridgend in accordance with its Contract Procedure Rules (CPR's). Brackla 1 car park was constructed in the mid 1970’s by British Lift Slab company. The construction form is known as “lift slab construction using the warp deck method”. The structure is 61m x 31.5m on plan, has 5 parking floors including the ground floor and has two stair towers, one includes two lift shafts. Attached is a Briefing Note providing an overview of the project itself and this Pre-Market Engagement Process and timetable (See below also). Also attached is a General Questionnaire where the Authority has identified areas of the project where it is keen to get a market understanding of the practicalities associated with the demolition of such a multi-story car park. In this questionnaire we would appreciate any feedback or concerns you may have about such a project. It is also planned to arrange Site Visits for all contractors on an individual basis so that all aspects of the project can be openly discussed in confidence with our Engineering Department. Timetable for Speculative Notice: • Issue Date: 16th May 2022. • Date Questionnaire to be returned to the Authority: 6th June 2022 (3-weeks). • Site Visits can be arranged following the return of the above questionnaire. • Site Visits between 7th June 2022 and 21st June 2022. (Where potential bidders may then re-visit their returned Questionnaire and revise their original responses). • Review of originally submitted questionnaires by the bidders to be finalised and returned to the Authority by COP on 28th June 2022. • The Authority’s contact for Site Visits and further technical information is Allen Lloyd - Allen.Lloyd@bridgend.gov.uk
