The Health Board is inviting suppliers to quote to transfer deceased patients from the Wrexham Maelor Hospital to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd, by either hearse or private ambulance, for the purposes of post mortem examination. The deceased would then be transferred back to Wrexham on the same day following completion of the examination.

II.2.4) Description of the procurement
The Health Board is inviting suppliers to quote to transfer deceased patients from the Wrexham Maelor Hospital to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd, by either hearse or private ambulance, for the purposes of post mortem examination. The deceased would then be transferred back to Wrexham on the same day following completion of the examination.
Overview:
-Approximate 12 month contract
-Transfer of deceased patients and case notes from Wrexham Maelor Hospital to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd
-Transfers must be via hearse or private ambulance
-Daily service required (Monday-Friday) between 1-4 deceased patients
-Deceased must arrive in Ysbyty Glan Clwyd mortuary by 9:30 am
-Deceased to be transferred back to Wrexham Maelor Hospital to arrive before 3.30pm
-Must be a member of the National Association of Funeral Directors (evidence required)
-Transfer will require two persons
Length of contract
It is the health board’s intention to initially tender the service for twelve (12) months with an option to extend for two (2) twelve (6) month periods, with the extension period being subject to supplier performance in line with Key Performance indicators (KPI’s) and contract reviews.
