The dual steam materials will be collected from kerbside by the Council’s in-house collection team and tipped loose into bays at transfer stations operated by Council’s contracted Waste Transfer Stations operator, SUEZ Recycling and Recovery Ltd UK.
Materials collected include:
Paper and card – including newspapers, magazines, directories, office paper, junk mail, envelopes, shredded paper, all cardboard including, boxes, packets, corrugated card
Plastic and cans – including plastic bottles, tubs, trays, pots, tetrapaks, juice cartons and all steel and aluminium cans and tins including aerosols and aluminium foil and trays.
Lot 1 – Haulage and treatment of mixed paper and card
Lot 2 – Haulage and treatment of mixed plastic and cans
The material will be bulked at our two transfer stations in Llanfoist, Abergavenny and Five Lanes, Caerwent. The materials will be stored separately in bays awaiting transportation. The material is loaded into artic and walking floor bulk collection vehicles by the transfer station operator. There is capacity on site for standing trailers if necessary.
