Description of the goods or services required
The University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTD) wishes to Tender for an Artificially Intelligent (AIS) chatbot solution to support a higher education funding council for Wales (HEFCW) project starting in March 2023.
The UWTSD project has short timescales and as such we are looking to acquire an existing product that requires little to no re-development to deploy.
The money is awarded on the understanding that the AIS can be used by students and staff who are bilingual. This means that the AIS must be able to communicate in both English and Welsh.
The key objective of the project will be to test a new pedagogical approach where students will learn material by teaching the AIS with a refined corpus of knowledge that it will use in preference to what it already knows to converse with students about the subject of Enterprise.
The AIS must be able to integrate into the UWTSD Learning Management System (LMS) as well as those of its partner organisations.
The project involves teaching a cohort of non-technical people to program a list of answers to frequently asked questions on aspects of enterprise knowledge. The Enterprise course includes 15-units and it is anticipated that the bot(s) will be “programmed” to answer intelligently about 100 frequently asked questions on each subject.
UWTSD is working with 4 FE (Further Education) Partners
Coleg Sir Gar
Pembrokeshire College
Cardiff & Vale College
Neath & Port Talbot College
it is expected the system would integrate with the FE systems within 6 months.
UWTSD will contract for a minimum of 1 year initially from March 2023, with an option to extend for a further 2 x 12 months
