Carmarthenshire County Council is seeking to dispose of a variety of used recycling/waste collection skips and metal bins of various sizes and conditions, in addition to a metal weighbridge, that are surplus to its operational requirements.

Suppliers are advised to allow adequate time for uploading documents and to dispatch the electronic response well in advance of the closing time to avoid any last minute problems.

Total quantity or scope of tender

- The removal, treatment and processing of a selection of metal skips and the dismantling and treatment of a redundant weighbridge during the stated period of removal from Wernddu Household Recycling Centre, near Ammanford.

- The removal, treatment and processing of a selection of metal wheeled bins and other metal scrap during the stated period of removal from Plot 15, Trostre Industrial Park, Llanelli.

- All containers to be disposed of at Wernddu have been marked with a large ‘X’. There are approximately 75 skips and one weighbridge. The Roll-On Roll-Off skips on site, ARE NOT INCLUDED in the requirement.

- Items for scrapping at Plot 15, Trostre will be in a designated corner of the site and include textile banks and metal wheeled bins.

3 Conditions for Participation

3.1

Minimum standards and qualification required

Should the Contractor wish to utilise any of the items, Carmarthenshire County Council gives no warranties and makes no representations in respect of the condition or appearance of aforesaid items, or their fitness for purpose. It is for the Contractor to satisfy themselves that items are of an acceptable condition and fit for purpose. The Council accepts no liability for said items.

The Contractor must collect all items within the specified time period. If the items are not collected within 15 working days after the deadline date the ownership of the item will remain with the Council, and it reserves the right to readvertise for their scrap value.

Carmarthenshire County Council reserves the right to add or withdraw items, without notice.

The items are for collection and crushing/cutting on site, the cost of which shall be borne by the Contractor. The Council will not deliver the items.

The Council expects bidders to inspect items prior to bidding, to satisfy themselves that they are of an acceptable condition to the bidder.

Opportunities for interested parties to view the skips have been arranged for 7th December 2022 -

Plot 15 - 10am -12pm

Wernddu - 1:30pm to 3:30pm

We would ask that potential bidders inform the Council via the messaging facility at what time they would like to visit each site by Friday 2nd December 3pm at the latest.

Bidders should complete the Registration Form / Bidding Sheet document attached to this notice.

In the event that an applicant wishes to obtain further information or clarification before submitting their Bid, the Council’s Lead Officer shall endeavour to answer written enquiries which must be received no later than 3 working days (14:00 GMT, 13/12/2022) before the final date for the return of the completed submissions.
