The Works include the upgrading of boundary and party wall fencing, gates, clothes lines, paths and hedges in accordance with the Welsh Housing Quality Standard (WHQS).

2. Express an interest in the project:

— Click the “ITTs Open to All Suppliers” link (these are the ITTs open to any registered supplier).

— Click on the relevant ITT to access the content.

— Click the “Express Interest” button in the “Actions” box on the left-hand side of the page.

— This will move the ITT into your “My ITTs” page (this is a secure area reserved for your projects only).

— Click on the ITT code. You can now access any attachments by clicking the “Settings and Buyer Attachments” in the “Actions” box.

3. Responding to the invitation to tender:

— You can now choose to “Reply” or “Reject” (please give a reason if rejecting).

— You can now use the “Messages” function to communicate with the buyer and seek any clarification.

— Note the deadline for completion, then follow the onscreen instructions to complete the ITT.

— There may be a mixture of online and offline actions for you to perform (there is detailed online help available).

Under the terms of this contract the successful supplier(s) will be required to deliver Community Benefits in support of the authority’s economic and social objectives. Accordingly, contract performance conditions may relate in particular to social and environmental considerations. The Community Benefits included in this contract are:

“Beyond Bricks & Mortar” is Swansea Councils Community Benefit policy introduced as a means to tackling poverty, promoting inclusion, and creating an impact on deprivation in the City. By addressing the need for more training and job placement opportunities for the economically inactive and unemployed, the policy aims to provide longer term sustainable jobs and training.

In addition the Community Benefit policy recognises and promotes contributions made through our contracts to local communities and education.

Successful Swansea Council Contractors are requested to participate in this initiative.

For this contract the Contractor is requested to:

1. Recruitment and Apprentices – if opportunities arise for jobs and training utilise the services of Beyond Bricks and Mortar team (BB&M) to recruit for those job vacancies or apprentices / trainees to ensure those who are unemployed or economically inactive are offered opportunities for employment

If appropriate make use of the shared apprenticeship scheme, Cyfle, through Beyond Bricks and Mortar team.

2. Unwaged Work Experience – undertake unwaged work experience opportunities as part of the Contract if requested.

3. Contributions to Education – participate in Careers Wales “Education Business Exchange” a database to help employers work with schools in a variety of ways, this can include:

• Taking part in school presentations helping young people to understand the world of work

• Offer short term work experience

4. Contributions to the Community – if requested contribute to works in the Community by provision of in kind labour and/or in kind materials
