Request for Proposals: Support for the delivery of the Future Generations Leadership Academy 3.0
The Future Generations Commissioner of Wales (“FGC”) is seeking proposals from service providers to assist with the delivery of the third Future Generations Leadership Academy (“The Academy”).
Background and context
The FGC is responsible for promoting the progress of Wales’ Well-being goals within Wales’ public sector as set out by the Well-being of Future Generations Act (“WFGA”). Developing culture change and leadership within Wales’ public bodies is critical in equipping public bodies with the skills required to achieve the well-being goals.
The Academy recruits and train future leaders in leadership skills and in the seven well-being goals and five Ways of Working of the WFGA. It recruits young leaders from the public, private and voluntary sector, between the ages of 18 and 30 and runs on an annual basis. This will be the third Academy for 30 participants. The FGC team is working with stakeholders from all sectors, including public bodies, to ensure that diversity is maximised in the Academy cohort and participants are supported by their line managers to complete the Academy successfully and join the existing Academy Alumni network on graduation. The Alumni network is facilitated by the FGC and aims to continue to strengthen the leadership skills of graduates of the Academy while implementing change in their workplace.
The FGC Academy 3.0 will be a bilingual experience so please consider this in your proposals, include your plans and approach on ensuring there is an equal approach to the Welsh and English language. The FGC has a safeguarding policy in place for the Academy, which will be outlined to the service provider.
The FGC Academy project is financially independent project to the FGC team, funded by external sponsors from all sectors. We are relying on our fundraising activities and currently in the phase of sponsors’ recruitment. The budget available for this specific proposal is £30,000, with the possibility of a further £10,000 for additional work should the budget allow.
The deliverables for this assignment will be:
1. Design and delivery of 5 in-person sessions (of 2 hours each) for 30 participants around: Leading with Others, Leading Yourself, Leading with Empathy, Leading the Future and Leading Change.
2. Design and delivery of an open and inclusive recruitment process for participants.
