Home Improvement Agencies (HIAs) help elderly people, people with disabilities and other vulnerable people make adaptations to the homes they own. A Home Improvement Agency will give information, advice and support to homeowners who need repairs or improvements to their homes, or the assistance of a handyperson for decorating or gardening. The HIA will assess the homeowner’s needs and advise on practical, financial and legal matters related to adapting the home, repairing or insulating it.

II.2.4) Description of the procurement
Home Improvement Agencies (HIAs) help elderly people, people with disabilities and other vulnerable people make adaptations to the homes they own. A Home Improvement Agency will give information, advice and support to homeowners who need repairs or improvements to their homes, or the assistance of a handyperson for decorating or gardening. The HIA will assess the homeowner’s needs and advise on practical, financial and legal matters related to adapting the home, repairing or insulating it. The main purpose of HIA is to help vulnerable people continue to live as independently as possible in their own homes for as long as possible through prevention and early intervention services.
There is provision to extend the contract for up to 36 months in aggregate.
