Hywel Dda University Local Health Board has awarded a contract for the provision of Community Advocacy.
The aims of the service are:
Community Advocacy is to be community focused and is to support individuals to be heard and treated with respect to live within their community, safely, independently and feel supported.
Provides a support to help those who feel are not having their voice heard and needs met
A focus on ensuring people are heard and enabling them, as far as possible, to develop their own voice to learn to speak effectively for themselves
Signpost individuals to other help and support agencies as needed
A continued commitment to co-production of Community Mental Health services awarded across the HDdUHB geographical footprint
Community Advocacy is to be made available to those individuals currently accessing Mental Health Third Sector Services.
Advocates may work with people of all ages and backgrounds including children and young people who wish to access the service across the geography of the Health Board.
