Abstract

The Croft is a therapeutic residential children’s home in the Pontefract area. The home offers children and young people the opportunity to be settled, after periods of disruption to their lives, as many will have experienced placement breakdowns, and frequent moving can be traumatic. The home’s clinical team have provided in-depth training to the staff team on how to support young people in crisis. This commission is for a specialist nursing provision to support the care staff of a service user who has advanced Type 1 Diabetes which requires short term support (c. 4 weeks) to support the service user and the staff to deliver the required clinical input. The Service user is currently under a deprivation of liberties order, such is the severity of their condition.
