Abstract
The DSP Centre at Bangor University undertakes research in advanced communication technologies in its state-of-the-art research facility which is partly funded by the North West Growth Deal (NWGD) through Ambition North Wales. To further expand our research capabilities, we plan to acquire a Real-Time DSP Platform, and will also require installation/set-up support and training.
A real-time development platform is required incorporating a high-performance Intel/Altera field programmable gate array (FPGA) (for compatibility with our existing FPGA designs) and high-speed analogue-to-digital (ADC)and digital-to-analogue (DAC) converters. The ADC/DAC must operate at a minimum of 50GS/s with a minimum of 8-bits resolution. Ease of system operation and associated DSP design tools will be a major consideration. A multi-board solution is acceptable.
