Short description of the contract or purchase(s)
Procurement of equipment to install four no. 33 kV rated cable tails from the current dry mate connectors to the 4 developer berths at the Wave Hub offshore facility for the development and testing of wave energy devices, providing a well-defined and monitored site with electrical connection to the onshore UK electricity grid.
It is intended to replace the current 11 kV rated dry mate connectors with a 33 kV rated in-line joint and to terminate the cables with half of a 33 kV dry mate connector.
4 300 m cable tails, each consisting of a double armoured three-core cable, are laid to the north east as a bundle section over a distance of 160 m from the TDU.
Workscope to supply equipment to replace the current dry mate connectors with an in-line joints and to terminate the cables with half of a dry mate connector along with testing of cables onshore.
Complete supply scopes:
— 4 x in-line joint,
— 4 x Dry mate connector,
— onshore cable testing services,
— cable abrasion protection,
— supply of Rock Bags.
