A cleaning contractor is required to clean the rooms/areas in our Residential areas at our Cambridge and Chelmsford campuses which are vacated in early/mid-June each year, and to clean parts of the Halls of Residences as required throughout a defined period during the summer months for summer business (exact dates to be confirmed each year with the Universities Facilities manager or their representative – usually 14-16 weeks, early/mid-June – mid/late September each year), ensuring rooms/areas are ready for the new student intake in September. There may also be a requirement to provide hotel style cleaning for any commercial summer business for student rooms that are used for this purpose throughout the summer.

Please note that there is no minimum guaranteed work, and the required quantity of cleaning services can vary throughout the period, so flexibility is vital. However, based on 2022 expenditure, we expect to spend around £85k at Cambridge excluding vat each year on these services.
