II.1.4) Short description
United Utilities (UU) require a supplier for the collection of samples and refrigerated transportation from UU for analysis for CIP4. The programme will run alongside AMP8 and the scope is being finalised. The required determinants and sample numbers will be detailed within any tender documentation. The UKWIR Chemicals Investigation Programme (CIP) is a research programme including investigations into the occurrence, sources and removal of trace substances from the wastewater works. CIP4 will be the next phase to this research. Any tender documentation will be based on the draft scope and revised with the successful supplier once confirmed. Samples must be transported in a refrigerated vehicle in accordance with ISO 5667 requirements. Upon collection of the samples, the results should be returned to the Laboratory within an agreed reasonable turnaround time, in an agreed reasonable format. The intention is that sampling will commence September 2024, and will be ongoing for 5 years.

II.2.4) Description of the procurement
United Utilities (UU) require a supplier to undertake the collection of samples and refrigerated transportation from UU scientific services and analytical services of these collected samples in accordance with the parameters outlined in CIP4. Samples will be taken by UU samplers and transported to the main laboratory at Lingley Mere, Warrington for collection. The programme of analysis will run alongside AMP8 and the scope is currently being finalised. The required determinants and sample numbers will be detailed within any tender documentation. The UKWIR Chemicals Investigation Programme (CIP) is an ongoing research programme including a series of investigations into the occurrence, sources and removal of trace substances from the wastewater works. The UK Water Industry Research (UKWIR) in collaboration with the Environment Agency (EA) have set out the basis for these studies, to address the likely implications of environmental legislation for the UK water industry, which commenced with CIP in 2010 and have continued with CIP2 and CIP3, which terminates in 2025. CIP4 will be the next phase to this research. Any tender documentation will be based on the draft scope and revised with the successful supplier once confirmed. Samples will be collected in batches from Ullswater House, Lingley Mere Business Park, WA5 3LP at an agreed time. Samples must be transported in a refrigerated vehicle in accordance with ISO 5667 requirements. Upon collection of the samples, the results should be returned to the Laboratory within an agreed reasonable turnaround time, in an agreed reasonable format. The intention is that sampling will commence September 2024, and will be ongoing for 5 years.
