Abstract

The University has held an annual enterprise wide licence with Lynda.com for the last 4 years.

The online learning platform offers thousands of courses delivered by industry experts and those in academia alike. We currently have a Campus Wide licence for Lynda.com, the majority are students, but it is also heavily used by a higher percentage of staff for skills development. Students complete courses to understand software applications to support studies, for digital skills development and for business and employability related development.

There are no alternative services that are capable of offering the range, depth and quality of courses currently available through Lynda.com. As such, we have decided to extend our use of the service for a further 3 years to 2021. We have secured value for money by negotiating directly with the service provider to obtain the best annual renewal price.
