Abstract

East Sussex County Council have awarded a single provider for the provision of support in safe

accommodation services for victims of domestic abuse. The provider will be required to

deliver a county-wide service for the support of adults and their dependent children (under

18 years) who are eligible for accommodation support services relating to domestic abuse.

The services include:

- The provision of specialist support in 55 units of safe accommodation for people

experiencing domestic abuse and violence, and their children.

- A requirement that any multi-occupancy buildings with communal areas will be offered on a

single-sex basis.

- Specialist direct support for children and young people

- Specialist parenting support for those with children resident in the safe accommodation

units (regardless of the residence of the children).

- An outreach service to support the safe move-on of safe accommodation residents back

into the community.

- A requirement that all services are holistic and trauma informed.

The contract will start 01 April 2025, the duration of which will be five years, with an option

to extend for up to 60 months.

The annual value of the contract will be £506,380 and not subject to indexation. Additional

one-off budgetary resource of £187,797 is ring-fenced to meet the costs of refurbishment of

existing and/or additional buildings for East Sussex County Council commissioned services

for victims/survivors of domestic abuse, including, but not limited to those provided by this

contract. If the provider establishes safe accommodation provision that requires

refurbishment of existing and/or additional buildings, they will be able to access a proportion

of this resource. This will be with the prior agreement of the Strategic Commissioner, and

against actual spend.
