we wish to appoint an experienced and suitably qualified contractor to carry out renewals of Fire resistant door sets to common parts in accordance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2015, relevant Building Regulations and Specification.

Trosnant Villa is a general needs scheme in Pontypool, there are 17 communal fire doors that need replacing including all door furniture and frames. There are 3 rising cupboard fire doors that need replacing including all door furniture and frames. There are 2 laundry and office fire doors that need replacing including all door furniture and frames, there is also 1 wc door replacement including all door furniture this is not to be a fire door

3 Conditions for Participation

3.1

Minimum standards and qualification required

All works are to be designed and installed in line with requirements of Building Regulations Approved Document B, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) order 2005, BS8214:2016 Code of practice for fire door assemblies and BWF best practice guidance relating to fire doors, all other current and relevant best practice documents, hold Fire Door Inspection Scheme Diploma qualification and FIRAS or equivalent accreditation requirements. The successful Contractor and site operatives who carry out the works must be certified by FIRAS or equivalent for the installation of timber fire doors.

You will be expected to undertake all duties of the Principal Contractor and a Designer in compliance with the requirements of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, in so far as they are applicable to the Works and adhere to The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005

Under the terms of this contract the successful supplier(s) will be required to deliver Community Benefits in support of the authority’s economic and social objectives. Accordingly, contract performance conditions may relate in particular to social and environmental considerations. The Community Benefits included in this contract are:

It is Melin Homes' responsibility to deliver and report on Welsh procurement, supply-chain opportunities, resource and waste, and community donations, to enable us to monitor our economic and environmental impact in Wales.

Therefore, the successful applicants will be required to support these activities based on the minimum guidelines of 0.5% of the contract value will be payable by the contractor/supplier. Invoicing for the Sustainable Communities Fund sum will be subject to VAT and invoices raised at time agreed at purchase/pre-contract.
