Abstract

Bridgend County Borough Council (BCBC) are holding a Pre-Market Engagement Event concerning its Resilient Communities Facilities and Activities opportunity. The Resilient Community project is being funded by the UK Government from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (SPF), part of the government’s wider commitment to level up all parts of the UK and provides funding for local investment between 2022 and 2025. We are seeking a number of proposals for innovative models of delivery which will add value to the Resilient Communities programme, supporting the community facilities and activities interventions. The proposals will need contribute towards one, more than one, or all, of the following interventions: • Enhanced support for existing cultural, historic and heritage institutions that make up the local cultural heritage offer, including improvements to access to sites to counter the effects of isolation, particularly for older people and disabled people. • Design and management of the built and landscaped environment to ‘design out crime’. • Support for local arts, cultural, heritage and creative activities. • Support for active travel enhancements and other small-scale sustainable transport infrastructure projects, in accordance with Wales Transport Strategy. • Investment and support for digital connectivity for local community facilities. We will be providing further information on the Shared Prosperity Fund delivery in Bridgend. In addition, we are seeking discussion with community organisations on potential proposals, how these could complement the Resilient Communities programme and how we can adapt the opportunity to enable submissions. Bridgend County Borough Council are carrying out this Pre-Market Engagement process concerning the delivery of the UK Government SPF funded Resilient Communities theme. A Pre-Market Engagement event will be held on 24th and 25th January 2024 as follows: • 24th January 10:00 – 11:00: On-line briefing on the Shared Prosperity Funded Resilient Communities programme and opportunity in Bridgend • 24th and 25th January: Individual slots available for discussion with BCBC officers on the opportunity. The UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund has been developed to support the government’s wider commitment to level up all parts of the UK and provides funding for local investment between 2022 and 2025. The objectives of the Pre-Market Engagement Process for BCBC are to: 1. Understand the potential opportunities and challenges to enhancing delivery in line with the eligible interventions 2. Receive general feedback. 3. Understand how the benefits of the programme can be maximised. 4. Obtain clarity from the market on the total value of any proposals BCBC are therefore looking to engage with suppliers/contractors who can provide all, or part of the services required to deliver Bridgend Resilient Communities Facilities and Activities.
