Abstract

The Gibraltar Port Authority (GPA) is in the process of relocating its coastal surveillance and vessel traffic service Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) system from its current harbour location to new purpose-built offices at Lathbury Barracks, Windmill Hill at the south end of Gibraltar. This objective shall be achieved through the procurement of a complete VTS system comprising all necessary hardware, software, required sensors, communications systems, training and support (‘the system’) but retaining the existing Radar antenna and associated transceiver hardware.

The purpose of the VTS replacement system project is to address a number of issues, ranging from limitations in the currently installed technology to increased requirements by GPA.

This Project will require the replacement of the existing VTS system at the VTS Centre and the Remote Sites. This will allow for display and control of Radar, AIS and Electro-Optic (EO) surveillance of British Gibraltar Territorial Waters from the new GPA VTS Centre.

Tenderers will be expected to provide a fully priced ‘turnkey’ solution to the requirements specified in the Specifications.
