Abstract

The UK Atomic Energy Authority UKAEA (the Client) has a requirement for the provision of Hackney Carriages (local taxi service) and Private Hire vehicles (with driver) for airport and longer journeys ie central London. The Client is located at Culham Science Centre, Abingdon, Oxfordshire which is a semi-rural area.

The Client intends to award two contracts, one for each lot, to provide the following services:

Lot 1: Hackney Carriage / Taxi service for local destinations.

Lot 2: Private Hire service to provide journeys between the Clients premises or staffs homes to transport terminus.

Contracts are intended to run for a duration of 3 years + an option to extend a further 1 year.

This period allows unsuccessful tenderers to seek further debriefing from the authority before a contract is entered into applicants have 2 working days from the notification of the award decision to request. If an appeal regarding the award of a contract has not been successfully resolved, the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (SI 2015 No. 102) provide for aggrieved parties who have been harmed or are at risk of harm by a breach of the rules to take action in the High Court (England, Wales and Northern Ireland).

Any such action must be brought promptly.
