Restart provides intensive support designed to help participants into sustained work that have been on UC for 6 or more consecutive months and in the Intensive Work Search Regime (IWSR) at the point of Referral.

Providers will work with employers, local government and other partners to deliver tailored support for individuals.

VII.2.1) Description of the modifications

A two-year extension to the Restart Scheme contracts. With a change of the eligibility criteria from nine (9) months on Universal Credit to six (6) or more consecutive months on Universal Credit and in the Intensive Work Search Regime (IWSR).

Need for additional works, services or supplies by the original contractor/concessionaire

Description of the economic or technical reasons and the inconvenience or duplication of cost preventing a change of contractor:

A two-year extension, as allowed for in the contract, to the current Restart contracts which was announced in the 2023 Autumn Statement.
