Abstract

The Materials and Manufacturing Academy (M2A) is a demand led, industry focused operation that will produce 312 high calibre individuals trained to masters and doctoral level to go on and lead our advanced engineering and materials sector. This operation will focus on higher-level skills for the Welsh Government Grand Challenge area of advanced engineering and materials sector by providing full and part time Research Masters and Engineering Doctorates. The successful evaluator will undertake an ongoing evaluation of the project. The objectives of the evaluation will be to highlight the areas where the M2A has succeeded, where it has had an impact, has it delivered value for money and areas that can be improved upon for future operations. The information gained from the evaluation will be used to mould the direction of the operation and to act as evidence as to whether the operation has been successful or not. The evaluation will focus on three primary areas; 1. Is the delivery process working? 2. Is the M2A operation having an impact on Specific Objective 3: To increase the number of people with graduate degrees or equivalent undertaking research and innovation activities with enterprise? 3. Is the M2A meeting its Cross-cutting theme objectives?
