II.2.4) Description of the procurement
Newport City Council is seeking to appoint a contractor to divert AHP waste collected from domestic and non domestic premises from incineration as the current disposal route to a treatment and recovery option with associated carbon reduction benefits and cost savings.
Material is to be loaded by NCC for transport by the successful contractor from NCC Docks Way disposal site, 52 weeks per annum, for the duration of the contract and taken to a suitable permitted licensed facility for treatment. Dependent on haulage capacity, requirement is for at least one load per week for the current tonnage generated – although flexibility is required and the final collection schedule would be agreed with the appointed contractor.
