Request for Proposal
Proposals are sought for the Catering and Cafe Concession for Isle of Anglesey Council at Oriel Mon.
Proposals are sought for the provision of a catering service at Oriel Môn, Museum and Arts Gallery, Rhosmeirch, Llangefni, LL77 7TQ.
It was established in 1991 to accommodate the Charles Tunnicliffe Collection and had a significant extension in 2008 to create Oriel Kyffin Williams.
Oriel Môn changes lives by caring for, interpreting and promoting Anglesey’s unique heritage and culture. It seeks to inspire creativity, and to provide learning opportunities and enjoyment for everyone.
Oriel Môn is a popular venue for the local community and for visitors to the island.
The objectives for this concession are:
• Provision of a year-round catering service meeting the needs of both local residents and visitors.
• Maintenance of excellent standards and a high degree of customer satisfaction.
• Provision of quality services at a fair price, ensuring value for money for the customer, a fair profit for the Caterer and a realistic return for the Council for providing the facilities.
The Café will be required to open during the normal museum opening hours, these being Tuesday – Sunday and Bank Holidays 10.00 – 5:00 (excluding Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day). The current level of delivery will be expected to be maintained. Additional opening hours for the café will have to be negotiated with Oriel Môn staff and cannot be guaranteed.
The café includes up to 50 covers in the seating area and there are 30 covers outside (5 tables seating 6).
As we recover from the effects of Covid19, we are seeking an entrepreneurial Catering Partner who will rebuild the catering business and maximise the potential that exists to embody the ethos of Oriel Môn by emphasising the area’s Welsh character and showcase local produce.
It is envisaged that this will include light meals, pastries, snacks, seasonal and healthy options, tea, coffee, drinks and alcoholic beverages. This suggested menu offer is not limited, and it is thought that it could also be expanded to include Sunday Lunches and other similar meals.
We would also expect a menu to reflect needs of vegan, vegetarian visitors too as well as intolerances such as gluten.
