Abergwesyn Hill Common Peatland Restoration

Description of the goods or services required

Bids are invited from suitably qualified and experienced peatland restoration contractors to

complete works at Abergwesyn Hill Common, Breconshire. Works to include, but not limited to:

reprofiling peat hagg cliffs along gully lengths, Molinia mulching and spreading, and raising the water

table by installing dams formed by in situ materials. Works to start 01 August 2023 and finish by the

end of October 2023, occurring around Drum yr Eira (SN 84956 59560) within an approximate 24ha

area.

Minimum standards and qualification required

Experience and availability to deliver.

a) Experience of peatland restoration works

b) Experience of working in remote locations

c) Experience of working in environmentally sensitive areas, such as SSSI’s.

d) Evidence of current Constructionline verification scheme registration, to be in place

throughout entire contract length

Risk Management

a) Appropriate risk management procedures (RAMS) in place (evidence required)

b) Supplied copies of relevant competency documents

c) Copies of insurance certificates (Public and Employer liability
