Abstract

Welsh Government’s national mission is to raise standards, reduce the attainment gap, and deliver an education system that is a source of national pride and public confidence. The Curriculum for Wales (CfW), made in Wales but shaped by the best from around the world, is fundamental to achieving that mission. The CfW framework guidance, first published in January 2020, helps each school develop its own curriculum, enabling their learners to develop towards the four purposes of the curriculum – the starting point and aspiration for every child and young person in Wales. It is also relevant for funded non-maintained nursery settings, pupil referral units (PRUs) and those responsible for the provision of education other than at school (EOTAS) in other settings, enabling them to develop an understanding of the CfW framework. Minor changes to CfW guidance can be managed by Welsh Government officials; however, where proposed changes are more substantive, these may involve testing by external partners (e.g. practitioner and expert groups) and/or require public consultation to progress amends. We will, therefore, require the successful editors to: • Review both English and Welsh versions of updated guidance to ensure coherence and consistency across the framework across all the related documentation being produced. • Review feedback received on updated guidance from practitioners, expert groups, and bilingual ‘terminologists’ • Submit final copies in English and Welsh to Welsh Government (dates to be agreed between the successful bidder and Welsh Government) • Liaise with the Contract Manager on a regular basis (to be determined between the successful bidder and Welsh Government)

Description of the goods or services required

We will, therefore, require the successful editors to:

• Review both English and Welsh versions of updated guidance to ensure coherence and consistency across the framework across all the related documentation being produced.

• Review feedback received on updated guidance from practitioners, expert groups, and bilingual ‘terminologists’

• Submit final copies in English and Welsh to Welsh Government (dates to be agreed between the successful bidder and Welsh Government)

• Liaise with the Contract Manager on a regular basis (to be determined between the successful bidder and Welsh Government)
